JD: Playwright Python, Power BI and Power Apps QA Tester

Job Summary:

SMBC Risk Technology group is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Power BI and Power Apps QA Tester to join the team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for testing, validating, and ensuring the quality and functionality of Power BI dashboards, Power Apps solutions, and related integrations. This role involves working closely with development teams, business analysts, and end-users to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions that meet business requirements.

 Primary Responsibilities

  Testing and Quality Assurance

• Develop, document, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for Power BI dashboards, Power Apps solutions, and related integrations.  

• Validate data accuracy, functionality, performance, and visualizations in Power BI reports and dashboards.  

• Test Power Apps functionality, including forms, workflows, and business logic.  

• Identify, report, and track defects and inconsistencies using JIRA or similar tools.  

• Conduct regression testing to ensure existing functionality remains unaffected after updates or enhancements.  

 Collaboration and Communication

• Work closely with developers, business analysts, and end-users to understand requirements and design test scenarios.  

• Communicate defects, testing progress, and results clearly and effectively to stakeholders.  

• Participate in requirement reviews and provide input from a testing perspective.  

 Automation and Process Improvement

• Explore and implement test automation for Power BI reports and Power Apps where feasible.  

• Continuously improve QA processes and strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.  

• Maintain testing documentation and create reusable templates for future use.  

 Key Skills and Competencies

• Strong understanding of Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and data modeling.  

• Familiarity with Power Apps, including Canvas and Model-driven Apps, and related workflows.  

• Experience with testing web-based applications.  

• Knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and data validation techniques.  

• Familiarity with APIs and Power Automate workflows.

• Hands-on experience with defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps).  

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.  

• Good understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.  

 Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.  

• 4+ years of experience as a QA Tester, preferably in Power BI and Power Apps environments.  

• Proven experience in testing data visualizations and low-code/no-code applications.  

• Testing Python Applications: Strong knowledge of Python and testing frameworks and experience with mocking, fixtures, and test coverage tools.

• Automation using Playwright: Hands-on experience in writing and maintaining Playwright scripts.

• Working Experience with GitHub and Azure DevOps : Proficiency in Git workflows and version control and Experience in setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines

 Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with test automation tools like Selenium, PowerShell, or custom scripts for Power Platform solutions.
